to all your friends and relatives and request them to do the same.

This is a true story OF Indians , FOR Indians and BY Indians which shows how teamwork can help solve many problem in times of grave crisis and danger.

M. V. SAFEER(Motor Vessal  Safeer) was a CARGO ship that evacuated 722 Indian nationals during the Kuwait war in 1990, which was the biggest rescue operation by a merchant navy ship.

It's over *29 years* since this humanitarian mission was accomplished and not many are aware of this heroic story until a *Bollywood movie called AIRLIFT* was released in January 2016 which portrayed  false scenarios of the actual events that took place.

This movie *AIRLIFT* has distorted history by having no regards for actual facts. It has deliberately misled the public,by making a mockery of the efforts of the Indian Government and of all concerned parties ,who were responsible for evacuating 176000 Indians from Kuwait and Iraq and this herculean task has been acknowledged in the Guinness Book of World Records

The movie showed a captain of a ship docked in Shuwaikh Port, Kuwait being offered money to carry the refugees. The "captain" accepted money to take the Indian refugees on his "garbage" ship.

In reality, M.V. SAFEER was the first and only cargo ship(designed to carry a complement of 40 crew) that was allowed to sail out from Shuwaikh Port in Kuwait during the war and brought 722 Indian Nationals to Dubai, free of cost. This voyage has no parallel.

*But Akshay Kumar, the Producer of AIRLIFT in his interview with India TV* (as uploaded on YouTube at (click here)
πŸ‘‰πŸΌ https://youtu.be/5_UZBXOeI0Y
(at 1 minute and 30 seconds)
*on 19th January, 2016* had categorically made a statement stating that:

_“Aur aapko bata doon ki yeh ek real story hai. Jo bhi aap is picture ke andar dekhenge, is me ek bhi cheez, ek bhi cheez aisi nahi hai jo mangadat ho. Jitni bhi cheezein aapko nazar ayengi, sab asli main hain, kahin na kahin logo se li hui hain aur wahan se is kahani ko banaya gaya hai."_

(Translate: *I want to tell you that this (Airlift movie) is a real story. Whatever you see in this picture, is true,  there is not one thing that is untrue. Whatever you see in the movie, everything is true and it has been taken from people who were there and the story has been made from there."*

When Akshay Kumar vehemently said in the interview that whatever was shown in Airlift was true then why did the movie show the ship's scene, in an outright disparaging way and also ridiculing the Merchant Navy?
It also sent a wrong message to the millions
of viewers who watched Airlift and believed that the Captain and crew of the ship took money from helpless evacuees who were trapped in the war in Kuwait.

Adding insult to injury, the Director Raja Menon has claimed to have done research for ten years with last three years prior to release of this movie being dedicated to full time research.(The director had no idea what he wanted to convey and God help all of us with such research! All his research did, was mislead the public and distort history.)

Showing false scenes in a movie and then claiming it to be a true story is the height of hypocrisy and a
slap on the face of the heroic efforts of the crew members, ship owners, Indian Government Officials and Diplomats and all other parties who worked tirelessly and selflessly to bring the refugees to safety and to grant them a new lease of life.

We are proud to say that this Humanitarian Mission was carried out totally Free of Costs by the ship owners, who have been recognized in the LIMCA Book of Records 2019

Watch Mr S M Mathur, Second Secretary of Indian Embassy at Kuwait mentioning that the M V Safeer operation was done free of charge

Hence in order to set the record straight and to make the public aware of the truth, the owners of the ship made this documentary "MISSION SAFEER..37 Days To Freedom"

We request all to see this 48 minute documentary which is a  TRUE STORY of the ship that was instrumental in bringing Indian Nationals to safety and to kindly share this message to one and all

Kindly show this historical event to students in schools and other educational institutes too!

Thanking you

Capt. Viraf Kekobad and Mr Hanif  Modak

(Owners of M V Safeer)
